The West Virginia Mountaineers are off to an explosive start as they lead the Maryland Terrapins 14-0 after one quarter of play courtesy of a pair of touchdown passes by Mountaineers quarterback Geno Smith.
Running back Tavon Austin was on the receiving end of each of those passes for West Virginia and the Maryland offense has failed to answer the Mountaineers’ initial outburst.
Maryland has managed just 30 yards of offense through the first quarter compared to the Mountaineers’ 213 yards.
