The Capitals will be back on the ice tonight, as they start their slate of preseason games against the Collumbus Blue Jackets. You can find their full lineups here (.pdf), via Japer's Rink.
Notables: You might notice the absence of a certain right winger. Alex Ovechkin is not on the roster for this game, presumably getting an early night off so that he may ease himself back into game shape.
Preseason is a great time to let the younger players get some serious playing time and experience. This could be a good opportunity for Karl Alzner, John Carlson, and Marcus Johansson to show the coaching staff what they can add to the team in an actual game situation. For Alzner and Carlson it will be the chance to show the staff how much they improved, but for Johansson it will be the first chance to shine.
We'll also be keeping an eye on Alexander Semin. This game isn't that important, so my guess is that he'll have at least four goals. ZING!
