One day after word of a future Maryland/Texas football tilt a FedExField spread, the Redskins announced they will host another high-profile college game a few years down the line. Specifically, the game will take place on Saturday, September 24th, 2016, when the West Virginia Mountaineers will play the Brigham Young Cougars for the first time in history. Here's more from the Redskins' press release:
Texas and BYU are two of only five programs nationally to win 10 or more games each of the past four seasons. From 2006 through 2009 BYU compiled a record of 43-9, while Texas has gone 45-8 over that same time span, including a National Championship Game berth this past January.
West Virginia has been one of the elite programs in the nation this decade, winning eight or more games for eight straight years, receiving AP Top 25 billing for the past five years, including three in the Top 10 finishes, and earning eight straight bowl trips.
