Last night, my eyes perked when I saw an advertisement for tickets to Monday's big Virginia Tech-Boise State showdown on the Redskins' broadcast. I found this amusing because there seemed to be a discrepancy in previous report about just how many tickets were actually available.
However, according to a report by Mark Giannotto of the Washington Post, the game is indeed close to selling out.
"We anticipate by game time to be close to a sellout," said Mitch Gershman, the Redskins chief marketing officer.
Gershman's remarks are consistent with what he told David Teel of the Daily Press a week ago. It remains to be seen whether Gershman is indeed correct about the attendance by kickoff.
