Signed in the middle of training camp to fill the void when fullback Mike Sellers went down with a pre-season injury, Carey Davis has been released by the Redskins.
According to Rich Campbell's twitter:
The #Redskins released fullback Carey Davis, I'm told. He was a late arrival in camp; signed after Mike Sellers' injury.
This move is a little surprising but might be an indication that the Redskins are confident that Sellers recovery is going smoothly. Also, since the only other fullback on the team besides Sellers is currently just Darryl Young, this might mean that Cooley is going to be lining up in the H back position a bit more this season.
