NFL Depth Chart: Unlikeliest Redskins Brandon Banks And Logan Paulsen

Today's roster cuts from the Redskins included few surprises. While Willie Parker was the biggest name to perish, most moves were expected.

Two players who made the roster amid much lower expectations though were wide receiver Brandon Banks and tight end Logan Paulsen.

Banks is the prototypical journeyman, and prototypical punt returner in the NFL. Banks has had his share of ups and downs this preseason, famously returning one punt for a 77-yard touchdown against the Buffalo Bills, but also fumbled twice during the team's four exhibitions. If nothing else, Banks is exciting. Many expected Banks to be cut from the roster due to his inconsistent ability to hold onto the ball, but he has a home run threat that few other players can provide.

Paulsen is an undrafted free agent out of UCLA. Known mostly as a blocking tight end, Paulsen made the roster due mostly to his strong play on special teams during the preseason.
