NFL Depth Charts: Redskins Seventh-Round Pick Erik Cook Assigned To Practice Squad

The Redskins draft strategy of trading for three seventh round draft picks in 2010 paid off to some degree. It's rare that a team would draft three players in the seventh round, but it's even more rare that all three players would remain a part of the organization. That is the case for the Redskins this year, as center Erik Cook will be joining fellow seventh rounders Terrence Austin and Selvish Capers on the team's practice squad, according a Redskins press release.

Cook was drafted out of the University of New Mexico and is versatile enough to play either guard or center on the offensive line. As a practice squad member, he'll help Washington's first-string defense prepare for their opponents each week. The team still has one slot remaining on the practice squad.
