Once this report came out about the Redskins talking to the Tennessee Titans about trading Albert Haynesworth, you knew the Titans would respond quickly. They have done exactly that, deciding not to acknowledge Chris Mortensen's report.
Via Jim Wyatt of The Tennesseean:
"I am not going to comment any time some rumor comes up,'' Titans General
ManagerMike Reinfeldt said. "If I comment on this, I comment on every one of these that comes up.''
Coach Jeff Fisher also declined to comment, saying that his focus is on the team's Week 1 game against Oakland.
Those denials are par for the course, so it's not like we should slam the door on a potential Haynesworth trade. For what it's worth, Washington Post Redskins writer Rick Maese tweeted that there was "lots of smoke" surrounding Haynesworth yesterday. It still seems pretty clear that the two teams are talking or at least have talked recently.
