Donovan McNabb On Albert Haynesworth: 'We Can't Win Without Him'

It's easy to say that Albert Haynesworth's teammates are so fed up with him that they want him off the Redskins' roster. It may be true, on some level, that his teammates are tired of him. But publicly, most of Haynesworth's teammates have supported him, and that trend continued today.

Speaking on his weekly radio segment at ESPN 980, quarterback Donovan McNabb made a bold statement about Haynesworth, especially in light of all the recent trade talk. Rick Maese of the Washington Post has a transcript.

"Albert is one of our brothers in the locker room...he understands, 'Hey, I got to put the time and effort in," McNabb said. "We can't win without him. I think he'll be here. I hope he'll be here."

McNabb is surely standing up for a player who is currently his teammate, but those are still very strong words. He added that Haynesworth plays a big role in the team's defense, and "everybody knows that."

Meanwhile, the Associated Press has confirmed ESPN's report that the Redskins and Titans have discussed a Haynesworth trade.
