The Washington Nationals have officially called up three more players to their active roster, according to a team press release. One is Cuban pitcher Yunesky Maya, who is scheduled to pitch tonight against the Mets. The other two are pitchers Ross Detwiler and Joe Bisenius.
Detwiler is well-known to most Nationals fans because of his place in the Nationals' future rotation. The 24-year-old rookie started some games for the Nationals this year before going on the disabled list, and the team is counting on him to be a regular part of the rotation going forward.
Bisenius is a bit more of an unknown. The 27-year-old was a member of the Phillies organization for six years before signing a minor league contract with the Nationals last May. He went 4-0 with a 3.05 ERA and one save across several minor league levels for the Nationals this season.
