The No. 22 Georgetown Hoyas need a win desperately. Last Saturday's home loss to West Virginia dropped them to 1-3 in the Big East, and with so many good teams in the conference, you cannot fall too far behind. Standing in their way, though, may be the best team in the conference.
Tonight, the Hoyas take on the No. 5 Pittsburgh Panthers at the Verizon Center at 7 p.m. Pittsburgh is 15-1 on the year, including a 3-0 start in Big East play. Their only loss was at home to Tennessee on December 11, but they have rebounded to win five straight, including an impressive 15-point victory against Connecticut. Even in their diminished state, though, the Hoyas present the Panthers with a stern road test, one they have yet to see this year. Pittsburgh has played just one true road game all season, defeating Providence 83-79 on January 4.
To win, though, the Hoyas must solve their shooting woes and stop turning the ball over. Otherwise, they will end up 1-4 in a very deep Big East.
