The Georgetown Hoyas will look for revenge tonight against a St. John's team that defeated them in New York back on January 3. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., and it will occur despite a forecast that calls for 5-8 inches of snow in the Nation's capital.
Georgetown sent out the following release just now, via ESPN 980:
The Georgetown men's basketball game against BIG EAST Conference rival St. John's will be played as scheduled on Wednesday, Jan. 26. The game tips off at Verizon Center at 7 p.m. Coverage at 655p on ESPN980 and ESPN980.com. The Georgetown University Athletics Department strongly encourages fans to use WMATA (Metro) and use every precaution to keep safe.
Assuming the game is indeed played, the Hoyas will hope to stop a St. John's team that beat them 61-58 in a tightly-contested game at Madison Square Garden three weeks ago. The Hoyas followed that up with consecutive home losses to West Virginia and Pittsburgh before winning two straight on the road over Rutgers and Seton Hall. This is Georgetown's first game in eight days.
Since that win, the Red Storm have struggled, dropping four of their last five. They have played elite competition, though, with the losses coming to Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Louisville and Cincinnati, all Top 25 teams. They are now 11-7 overall and 4-4 in the conference.
