Air Force Vs. Navy: Falcons Strike First And Fast, Lead Midshipmen 7-0

Navy's quest to regain the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy has not started smoothly. The Midshipmen surrendered a 52 yard scoring strike to Air Force less than two minutes into the ball game, made possible by some terrible Navy tackling. Air Force quarterback Tim Jefferson hit Ty MacArthur on a quick pass, with MacCurther scampering into the endzome while Navy did their best Keyston Kops impersonation.

Navy has talked all week long about regaining the Commander-in-Chief's trophy, a two and a half foot tall, three-sided trophy that is awarded to the service academy with the best record against its fellow service academies. Navy held the trophy from 2003-2009, but lost the symbolic award last year after an Air Force 14-6 victory.

This is the 40th year of competition for the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy. Given the history of this Navy and Air Force series, this game will be close throughout and decidied by seven points or less, just like eight of the last 10 contests.
