This week's college football schedule features probably the biggest ACC game to date in Blacksburg, as Clemson travels to take on Virginia Tech. There are also a couple other big conference games. Here are the scores of the ACC early schedule for Saturday.
Wake Forest takes out Boston College 27-19: Boston College couldn't make in two in a row after getting their first win last week, falling to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Boston College just couldn't get their offense going, passing for just 188 yards on 47 attempts. Meanwhile, the Deacons managed 252 yards in the air by quarterback Tanner Price. Towson plays Maryland closer than the final score, 28-3 : In a game that was a heck of a lot closer than the final score, Maryland beats the Towson Tigers 28-3. It was a struggle for Maryland, who held just a 7-3 lead at the half thanks to a missed Towson field goal. Bethune-Cookman makes it close early, gets pounded late by Miami, 45-14: Unfortunately for Miami fans, the Hurricanes allowed their game against Bethune-Cookman to be a lot closer than one would have expected early on. Bethune-Cookman stayed within a touchdown until Miami finally pulled away in the fourth quarter. Running back Lamar Miller had a nice day rushing the football, gaining 102 yards on 14 carries, including a 43-yard touchdown run. Plus, Jacory Harris didn't even throw an interception! No. 21 Georgia Tech pounds North Carolina State, 45-35: This game entered the fourth quarter a 21-14 game only for the Wolfpack to see Georgia Tech rattle off 21 straight points in the fourth quarter before NC State could answer. NC State scored a touchdown with 45 seconds left on the clock to make the score 45-28 and another touchdown on a fumble return with 20 seconds left to make the final score 45-35, but were plastered in the fourth quarter. Idaho falls Virginia in OT, 21-20: Coming off a disappointing loss to Southern Miss, most expected the Virginia Cavaliers to rebound against the Idaho Vandals. As Lee Corso would say, "Not so fast my friend!" Virginia jumped out to an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter, but late in the fourth quarter Idaho scored 8 points to send the game into overtime.
