Michal Neuvirth Injury Update: Capitals Goalie Admits To Bruised Right Foot

Via The Washington Times' Stephen Whyno, Washington Capitals goaltender Michal Neuvirth's "lower-body injury" is a bruised right foot, an injury that has caused him to miss three games.

Neuvirth said after practice Monday that he bruised his foot after taking a shot off it during last Monday's morning skate before a game with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Neuvirth practiced for about an hour before Saturday's game against the Ottawa Senators, but left Monday's practice after about 20 minutes. Head coach Bruce Boudreau said after Monday's practice that Neuvirth was "still sore," a point that Neuvirth himself reiterated:

"It was a little test. It was too sore to stay on the ice," Neuvirth said. "It's getting better and hopefully it's going to get better and I'll get healthy soon."

Boudreau also said that he feels as though Neuvirth needs a full practice before returning to full-time action, so expect the Caps to recall either Braden Holtby or Dany Sabourin before Tuesday's game against the Florida Panthers.
