Florida State returns home for the first time in 35 days, feeling much better about themselves after a 41-16 win over Duke. Maryland and new starting quarterback C.J. Brown, heavy underdogs on Saturday, hope to steal a win in the Sunshine State. Here is everything you need to know about Saturday's game:
Who: Maryland Terrapins (2-4, 1-2 ACC) Vs. Florida State Seminoles (3-3, 1-2)
Where: Doak Campbell Stadium
When: 3:30 EST
TV Information: Mike Patrick and Craig James (shudder) have the call on ABC/ESPN2.
Spread: Florida State by 17.5.
Last game: Maryland lost a wild game to Clemson 56-45, blowing an 18 point lead, but appears to have found it's quarterback of the future in C.J. Brown. Florida State crushed perennial conference doormat Duke 41-16.
Last season: The Seminoles continued their dominance in this series, beating the Terrapins 30-16 for their 19th victory in 21 meetings between the two schools. Maryland had four turnovers in the game, including three in the fourth quarter.
Key absences: Both of these football teams currently resemble a M.A.S.H. unit. The biggest absences for Maryland are offensive lineman Andrew Gonnella, lost for the season with a gruesome leg injury, and wide receiver Kevin Dorsey. Star linebacker Kenny Tate is listing as probable and is expected to play. The Seminoles will be missing several offensive lineman, as well as skill position players Willie Haulstead (WR) and Chris Thompson (RB).
