Navy Vs. Notre Dame: Trey Miller Starting At Quarterback Due To Kriss Proctor Injury

It's official now. Navy starting quarterback Kriss Proctor will not play for the Midshipmen against Notre Dame on Sunday due to an elbow injury. Navy athletic director Scott Strasemeier confirmed that backup Trey Miller will make his first start as Navy looks to snap its five-game losing streak in South Bend.

Proctor suffered the injury in Navy's 38-35 home loss to East Carolina on Sunday. He has struggled with elbow issues throughout his career, so this is just the latest setback. Miller came in and nearly led a comeback, throwing two touchdown passes and also rushing for 44 yards. Notre Dame, though, is definitely a bigger challenge for Miller than East Carolina.

The game will be broadcasted on NBC starting at 3:30 p.m. Notre Dame is looking to bounce back from a blowout loss to USC last week.
