Marine Corps Marathon Results 2011: Chad Ware Wins Men's Division

The results for the 2011 Marine Corps Marathon are in, and this year's winner is an Illinois man name Chad Ware. Ware took the victory, posting an unofficial time of 2 hours, 19 minutes and 16 seconds. The time was a personal best.

Ware is a first lieutenant in the United States army, so he continues the tradition of military personnel winning the event. Last year, it was Air Force lieutenant Jacob Bradosky who took home the victory. Ware' time was over four minutes faster than Bradosky, who finished with a time of 2 hours, 23 minutes and 30 seconds last year.

Ware was in the lead early in the race before falling back at the 12th mile. However, he surged ahead as the race went around the Capitol building and held it as he came in for the finish.
