Week 5 of the (Ron Jaworski voice) National Football League season is upon us. For non-Sunday Ticket subscribers, here are the games you will be getting in the Washington D.C. area (thanks as always to the506.com for the great coverage maps).
Tennessee Titans vs. Pittsburgh Steelers: The Titans are off to a surprising 3-1 start, thanks mainly to the play of offseason acquisition Matt Hasselbeck. The veteran signal caller is second in the AFC in passer rating to Tom Brady, and has throw eight touchdowns against just three picks on the year. The Steelers are physically banged up, and with a loss would fall to just 2-3 on the season. Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf with the call. (1:00 P.M., CBS)
N.Y. Jets vs. New England Patriots: Bluster vs. Brains. Rex vs. Bill. The Hyperbole Bowl, if you will. The Jets versus the Patriots is fast becoming THE rivalry in the NFL (types a non-Skins or non-Cowboys fan). The Jets have to get a modicum of competency out of quarterback Mark Sanchez to have any chance to win. Sanchez is currently the anti-Tom Brady out there guiding his team. Jim Nantz and Phil Simms are your broadcast team. (4:00 P.M., CBS)
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Buffalo Bills: The Eagles, 1-3 on the young season, are looking to avoid a loss today and what would be their first four game losing streak in six years. They face an upstart Bills team (3-1) coming off a tough 23-20 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4. Sam Rosen and Tony Kornheiser favorite Brian Billick have the call from Ralph Wilson Stadium. 1:00 P.M., FOX)
