Navy appears to be in quite the dogfight in their quest to keep their bowl hopes alive. The Midshipmen currently hold a 17-10 lead over SMU on the road, but the Mustangs are driving threatening to tie the game.
The Midshipmen took a seven-point lead into halftime, but then SMU tied it up early in the third quarter. SMU took the opening kickoff and put together an excellent nine-play drive, which was capped when J.J. McDermott found Cole Beasly for a seven-yard touchdown. However, Navy eventually re-took the lead, putting together their own 13-play drive eventually capped by a one-yard touchdown by John Howell. That's where the game currently stands.
