2012 NFL Draft Order: Redskins Tied For Third Worst Record In NFL

The Washington Redskins stand at just 3-6, a long way from Playoff contention. So is it already time to start looking ahead to the 2012 NFL Draft?

Nobody wants to be the bearer of bad news. The guy who throws in the towel on the NFL season by deciding to look ahead, not towards the next opponent, but towards potential salvation in the NFL Draft. It might not be time to throw in the towel on the season quite yet, but the Redskins have lost five straight games, which means that it might be time to think about the Draft, even if it's only on the backburner.

As of right now the Redskins stand at 3-6, which is tied with the Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles (gasp!), Jacksonville Jaguars, Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns for the third worst record in the NFL. The Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers and St. Louis Rams all have two wins a piece while the Indianapolis Colts are bringing up the rear with an abysmal 0-10 mark.

If the standings stay this way throughout the rest of the season the Colts will have the privilege of drafting Andrew Luck first overall (if they choose), while the Redskins could pick anywhere from sixth to 11th depending on the results of a few different coin flips. But these standings almost assuredly won't stay quite like this. Some of these teams (Panthers, Dolphins, Browns, Cardinals and Jaguars to name a few) are trending up. The Redskins are certainly trending down, and the Eagles have to do better than this, right?

We'll keep track of the NFL Draft order throughout the rest of the season in this StoryStream. For more on the NFL Draft head over to Mocking the Draft, and for more info on the Redskins check out Hogs Haven.
