After blowing a two goal lead and then losing in a shootout to the New Jersey Devils on Saturday at Verizon Center, Bruce Boudreau and the Capitals will take their show on the road this week for three straight games. It's a road trip that they will be making without star defenseman Mike Green, who is dealing with a groin injury suffered in Friday night's win over the Devils.
Their week begins in Music City when they take on the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena. The Predators are 8-5-3, good enough for 2nd in the NHL's Central Division. From Nashville, the Caps travel up north to face their geographically incongruous division rival, the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets are still struggling to get off the ground in their first year since relocating from Atlanta. They're last in the Southeast Division, and only the Islanders have a worse record in the Eastern Conference. At the start of the week, they had lost five in row.
Washington remains north of the border to finish out the week against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Leafs have had a strong first month to lead the Northeast Division. They are paced by All Star forward Phil Kessel, the league's points and goal leader at the start of the week.
Tuesday 11/15 Washington at Nashville - 8:00 PM CSN
Thursday 11/17 Washington at Winnipeg - 8:30 PM CSN
