The Washington Redskins face the surprisingly good San Fransisco 49ers this week, in what could be a pretty ugly game for a team that has been on the slide for the past few weeks. But there might be some glimmers of offense in this one, and that could help you win your league this week. Which Redskins have the best chance of breaking out?
Based on what we saw last week, it probably won't be John Beck. He spent most of the game against the Buffalo Bills on the ground, and when he did have time to throw the ball he didn't look great doing so. Our pals at numberFire only project him to get about 12 points this week, which isn't very good for your starting quarterback.
I'm not sure which Redskins running back will be getting the majority of the carries this week, but Ryan Torain, Roy Helu and the newly acquired Tashard Choice (if healthy and available) could all get carries. That means that none of them are a very good play because we don't know which one of them will get the most points. Thanks a lot Shanahan.
With Santana Moss out, Jabar Gaffney has become the primary receiving target (among wideouts) so he is probably the only one worth playing. Having said that, numberFire projects him to get about eight points, which isn't great. But if you have a lot of bye weeks to navigate, Gaffney could be a good play in deeper leagues.
Fred Davis has been a pretty good Fantasy force all season long, and I don't think that stops any time soon. he isn't splitting tight end time with Chris Cooley anymore and he is clearly the favorite offensive target the Redskins have. numberFire doesn't project him to get a ton of points, but I think he is probably worth playing.
