MLB Free Agency: Chien-Ming Wang 'Close' To Re-Siging With Washington Nationals, According To Report

Pitcher Chien-Ming Wang is close to re-signing with the Washington Nationals, according to reports.

The Washington Nationals are close to reaching an agreement with free agent pitcher Chien-Ming Wangaccording to William Ladson on his Twitter account.

I was informed that RHP Chien-Ming Wang is close to an agreement with the #Nats. Both sides are working out contract language. Even if a deal is not done by 12:01 a.m. ET tonight, agent Alan Nero is confident that a deal will get done between Wang and the Nats.

In 2010, Wang signed with the Nationals for a one-year, $1 million contract with $4 million worth of potential incentives. Wang started 11 games for the Nationals last season after spending part of the year in the minor leagues. He ended the season with a 4-3 record and a 4.04 ERA. Wang also spent time with the Nats in 2010, but spend much of the season on the disabled list and doing rehabilitation assignments. He's expected to be a back end of the rotation guy.
