After routing cross state rival Virginia on Saturday afternoon, the Virginia Tech Hokies locked up the ACC's Coastal Division and a spot in the ACC Championship game next week in Charlotte. The Hokies, however, were unable to move up at all in the Week 14 AP Poll as all four teams ahead of them took care of business over the holiday weekend. LSU and Alabama were voted a unanimous 1-2 in the poll as a rematch in the national title game appears more likely with each passing week.
There was also some attrition among ACC representation in the Week 14 poll, as both Virginia and Georgia Tech fell out of the top 25. Clemson, which also lost to its state rival along with UVA and GTech, remained in the top 25. The Tigers are ranked 23rd heading into their ACC title game matchup with the Hokies.
