The Washington Capitals earned their ninth win of the season in a 5-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes Friday, but it was a night of firsts for Cody Eakin. Eakin, one of the Caps' most highly-touted prospects, made his NHL debut Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks, but earned his first NHL point via an assist in the second period Friday. Eakin eventually scored his first career NHL goal in the third period and ultimately earned the first star of the night. After the game, Eakin's teammates celebrated by hitting him with his first NHL shaving cream pie. See the videos below the jump.
