The Navy Midshipmen were able to snap their six game losing streak with a dominant win over the Troy Trojans, winning 42-14 today. The Trojans scored late to make the score not look as bad, but the Mids led at halftime 35-0. Navy took their foot off the pedal in the second half, basically running clock to end the game and snap their six game losing streak, keeping bowl hopes alive.
Quarterback Kriss Proctor got the start, coming off an injury, completing just 4 of his 6 pass attempts but for 127 yards and a touchdown. Proctor also picked up 37 yards on the ground with two rushing touchdowns. Slotback Gee Gee Greene finished the day with 5 carries for 52 yards with a touchdown and also caught one pass for 48 yards and a touchdown. Overall, Navy ran the football for 390 yards.
Navy held Troy's offense to 330 yards and forced two turnovers, which allowed Navy to jump out to a quick 14-0 lead early on. The Mids can still make a bowl game, despite already having six losses. All they'll need to do is win out for the season.
