The reeling Washington Redskins (3-4) welcome the red-hot San Francisco 49ers (6-1) to FedEx Field on Sunday afternoon, in a matchup of team teams headed in opposite directions. After a promising 3-1 start, Washington has lost three straight games, as injuries and offensive futility continue to plague Mike Shanahan's team. San Francisco has won five straight games, and is off to their best start since 1998. The 49ers boast the top-ranked defense in the National Football League, allowing just 15.3 points per game - a frightening thought for the Redskins, a team that struggles to reach double digits on the scoreboard each week. Could this perhaps be a trap game for San Francisco, traveling from the West Coast and having to kick off at 1:00 PM EST? Redskins fans can only hope that is the case.
