The Washington Capitals return to the ice Tuesday evening when they'll square off against the Dallas Stars at Verizon Center in Washington D.C. The Stars have been one of the NHL's most surprising teams this season, racing out to an early lead in the Western Conference standings with a 10-3 record and 20 points. The Capitals are in solid shape after the first month of the 2011-2012 NHL season as well, currently in third place in the Eastern Conference with 18 points and first in the Southeast division with their 9-3-0 start.
The Capitals look to start another winning streak after dropping a road game to the Islanders Saturday night. It won't be easy though, as the Stars have won three in a row and four consecutive games against the Capitals.
Jamie Benn, the Stars' leading scorer with 15 goals, likes the way his team is skating right now:
"I think we're just feeding off each other and have got good chemistry out there," said Benn, who also has six assists during a five-game point streak. "I think on and off the ice we've got good chemistry and it really helps on the ice.
