The George Washington Colonials (4-4), losers of three straight games, travel to upstate New York Saturday night to face the third-ranked Syracuse Orange, 9-0 on the season and 7-0 at the Carrier Dome. The Colonials have lost 11 straight games to ranked opponents, most recently falling 81-54 to No. 24 California in early November.
During the three game losing streak, GW is scoring just 57 points per game while shooting a woeful 38.1 percent from the floor. In order to have a chance against the Orange, senior guard Tony Taylor (14.1 ppg, 4.9 apg) will have to play extremely well and the Colonials will need to stretch the Syracuse zone by making threes, from either Taylor or wings Nemanja Mikic and Lasan Kromah.
With a victory, Syracuse would begin their third consecutive season with 10 straight wins.
