The Navy Midshipmen are on the board first in the 112th edition of the Army-Navy Game at FedEx Field in Landover, Md. Quarterback Kriss Proctor ran it into the end zone from four yards out, and Navy leads, 7-0, with 1:06 remaining in the first quarter. Proctor had the opportunity to hand it off on the option, but read the play and decided to run it in himself.
The game has gotten off to a bit of a sloppy start. The Midshipmen were well on their way to scoring their first touchdown, but Proctor fumbled inside the red zone and Army recovered on the Navy 19-yard line. But only a couple plays later, the Black Knights gave it right back, putting the ball on the ground at the Navy 31-yard line. The Midshipmen scored shortly thereafter.
The Midshipmen were very close to missing the extra point, but it deflected off the upright and went through.
