Khan Vs. Peterson Results Live, Round 7: Amir Khan Called For Pushing, Point Deducted

The main event of Washington D.C.'s first major boxing fight in 18 years pits IBF and WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan defending his crown against D.C.'s own Lamont Peterson at the Washington Convention Center. The fight is taking place in Peterson's hometown, a rarity in boxing since he is the challenger. Joe Cooper is the referee for the bout, which began shortly after 11 p.m. Here is a recap of the seventh round.

Amir Khan has begun to go back on the offensive, landing a couple combinations in the first minute of the seventh round. Peterson was able to get Khan on the boards soon thereafter, landing a right hook to Khan's face and forcing him to the ropes before he was finally able to get out.

Peterson did get Khan on the boards after the one-minute mark, but wasn't able to land any solid punches. But that soon changed. Peterson did hit Khan with an uppercut, causing Khan to bleed by his nose. Peterson then hit Khan with a hard right hand, then pinned him on the boards and hit him with another hard right hand right at the end of the round.

At the end of the round, Khan was docked a point for pushing, which he contested heavily. That gives the round, 10-8, to Peterson.
