Khan Vs. Peterson Results Live, Round 11: Amir Khan Keeps Dancing Away

The main event of Washington D.C.'s first major boxing fight in 18 years pits IBF and WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan defending his crown against D.C.'s own Lamont Peterson at the Washington Convention Center. The fight is taking place in Peterson's hometown, a rarity in boxing since he is the challenger. Joe Cooper is the referee for the bout, which began shortly after 11 p.m. Here is a recap of the 11th round.

Amir Khan ended up winning the 10th round, which meant the 11th round was pivotal for Lamont Peterson. He chased Khan into the corner and landed a couple body shots, but neither did significant damage. Khan responded with an uppercut while being pushed to the boards, but by and large, the two fighters appeared fatigued early.

Peterson continued to desperately try to pressure Khan, finally landing a couple body punches at the 1:25 mark on the boards. Peterson got Khan on the boards again with a minute left in the round, landing a couple more strong punches. Khan then landed a quick combination in the middle of the ring, then fought back when Peterson pushed him to the boards with 20 seconds left.

Ultimately, Peterson tried his best to get Khan in a bad spot, but Khan kept escaping.
