Khan Vs. Peterson Final Results: Lamont Peterson Wins In Majority Decision

In a thrilling boxing fight at the Washington Convention Center, Lamont Peterson is your new light welterweight champion, defeating Amir Khan by majority decision to take the crown. One judge scored it 113-112 for Peterson. Another scored it 114-11 for Khan. The final judge scored it 113-112 for Peterson to give him the win.

Khan dominated the fight early, knocking Peterson down in the first round and threatening to turn this fight into a round. Instead, Peterson rebounded to land several strong punches and control the third and fourth rounds. Khan came back in the rounds thereafter once he switched to a more defensive style, but he was victimized late by two point penalties for pushing, both controversial calls that made people wonder whether Peterson was benefiting from his home-court advantage. The two fighters appeared exhausted afterwards, and it was very difficult to initially determine the winner.

In the co-main event, local heavyweight rising star Seth Mitchell knocked out Timur Ibragimov in the second round to remain undefeated.
