The Washington Capitals had a huge home win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday night. The Caps went four for four on the power play to avenge a 7-1 blow out last month against the Leafs. Now, the Caps look to continue the momentum after three days off. They will look to win their third in a row under Dale Hunter against the visiting Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night. As the week begins, the Flyers lead the NHL's Eastern Conference with 39 points and have won five games in a row. They boast the number one offense in the league, scoring an average of 3.6 goals per game. It will be a true test for the Caps, who seem to be getting their footing under Hunter.
After the home game against Philly, the Caps will travel north for a division game against the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets have won four of their last five games, and are just one point behind the Caps in the Southeast Division standings. The Caps have split with the Jets this season, losing 4-1 in their last visit to the MTS Centre.
Both games this week will be broadcast locally on CSN.
Tuesday, December 13th, 7:00 PM: Philadelphia at Washington
Thursday, December 15th, 8:30 PM: Washington at Winnipeg
