Flyers Vs. Capitals: Mike Green To See Specialist, Will Join Team On Road Trip

Mike Green has left to see a specialist, but will apparently join the team on their two-game road trip later this week, according to Dale Hunter.

BALLSTON, Va. - Mike Green was the only member of the Washington Capitals to not practice Monday at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. In fact, Green wasn't even in the building. Green tweeted that he was at the airport Sunday night and head coach Dale Hunter said that Green was indeed out of town seeing a specialist.

Hunter, however, would not disclose where Green was traveling or what kind of specialist he was seeing. Green has been out of the lineup since injuring his right groin November 11 and has only appeared in eight games this season while suffering from both the groin injury and a twisted right ankle. He has not skated since Thursday after doing so during the four days prior.

Perhaps one piece of positive news is that Hunter said Green should join the Caps on their two-game road trip, which begins Thursday against the Winnipeg Jets. Green has not traveled with the team since being injured.

Meanwhile, Matt Hendricks (knee) and Jay Beagle (concussion) both practiced Monday, Hendricks fully participated, while Beagle did not take part in any physical drills. Hunter said that he has to talk to head athletic trainer Greg Smith to get an update on Hendricks, but said he was looking good. There is no timetable on Beagle's return.
