Coming off their most complete performance since Dale Hunter took over coaching duties, the Washington Capitals head out on the road to face the New Jersey Devils this weekend. The Devils are currently 18-14, and surprisingly have two more points than the Caps as the NHL enters Christmas weekend. New Jersey is coming off a 4-1 loss to the Rangers but have won four of their last five games in what has been a successful December.
This will be the third meeting between the Caps and the Devils this season. They split a home-and-home weekend in early November, with the Devils winning 3-1 at Verizon and the Caps notching a shootout the next night in Jersey. The Devils offense has been red hot lately, and with the Caps coming off a win in which all three of their offensive stars scored, this Friday night matchup should be a great way to kick off the holiday weekend.
Friday, December 23rd: Washington at New Jersey - 7:00 PM on CSN
