FCS Playoffs 2011, Towson Vs. Lehigh Second Round Preview: Mountain Hawks Look To Defeat CAA Champs

The Towson Tigers welcome the Lehigh Mountain Hawks to Johnny Unitas Stadium in the second round of the 2011 FCS Playoffs.

The Towson Tigers (9-2, 7-1 CAA) welcome the Lehigh Mountain Hawks (10-1, 6-0 Patriot) to Johnny Unitas Stadium Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM in a 2011 FCS Playoff second round matchup. Lehigh will look to break an 0-7 streak against CAA teams by defeating the CAA champion Tigers

Statistically speaking, the game has all the makings of a shootout, as both teams are averaging over 34 points a game. Towson dominates rushing the ball: freshman running back Terrance West has amassed 1,242 yards and a FCS-leading 27 touchdowns on the season.

Lehigh will counter with an air attack, behind quarterback Chris Lum and wide receivers Ryan Spadola and Jake Drwal. Spadola and Drwal have combined for over 2,400 yards receiving and 19 touchdowns.

The winner of this game will match up against the victor of the North Dakota State/James Madison University contest.
