FCS Playoffs 2011, Towson Vs. Lehigh Second Round Preview: Tigers Fall Late 40-38

The Towson Tigers took on the Lehigh Mountain Hawks hoping to advance in the FCS Playoffs, but fell short late in the second half. The teams traded scores back and forth and went into halftime tied 17-17. The Tigers took charge after halftime however, taking a 31-24 lead into the fourth quarter and looking like they'd be advancing in the playoffs.

Lehigh wouldn't back down however, as Matt Fitz scored a rushing touchdown to tie the game early in the fourth quarter.  Towson took the lead again on a 52-yard touchdown pass by Gerard Sheppard. Once again however, Lehigh battled back and tied the game. With just under six minutes left, Lehigh's defense stepped up and scored a safety, giving the Mountain Hawks the late two-point lead which was enough for the victory.
