The No. 12 Georgetown Hoyas (11-1, 1-0), winners of nine games in a row, welcome the Providence Friars (11-3, 0-1) to the Verizon Center on New Year's Eve in the Hoya's conference home opener.
Georgetown is coming off an impressive 71-68 road victory over the previously undefeated Louisville Cardinals. Providence is looking to recover from a 81-67 drubbing on Tuesday at the hands of St. John's.
The Hoyas are looking to extend their longest winning streak since 2007, and also looking to defeat the Friars for the sixth straight time. Providence has not beaten a ranked team on the road since January of 2004.
