Army-Navy Game 2011: Odds Favor Midshipmen Over Black Knights

The Army Black Knights (3-8) and Navy Midshipmen (4-7) are set to square off Saturday, Dec. 10, for the 112th installment of their rivalry. Navy has won each of its last nine meetings with Army by an average of 25.7 points and by no fewer than 12, which helps to explain in part why the oddsmakers favor Navy by seven points in Saturday's contest, according to SB Nation partner OddsShark.

Navy opened the season with two victories, followed by a narrow defeat against the No. 10 South Carolina Gamecocks. That loss marked the first of six straight for the Midshipmen, who recovered in weeks nine and 10 to pull their record to 4-6. Their loss to the San Jose St. Spartans on Nov. 16, however, ended their hopes of earning a trip to a bowl game.

Army did not fare any better, winding the season down with five losses in its last six games, with the lone victory coming against the Fordham Rams of the FCS.
