George Mason Vs. Northern Iowa: Patriots Face UNI In ESPN Bracket Buster Competition

The George Mason Patriots are heading out west tonight in an important non-conference matchup against the Northern Iowa Panthers. The game is part of the ESPN Brackbuster Competition that George Mason has participated in the past six years.

The Patriots enter tonight's game on a 12-game winning streak, which is the longest active streak of any team in the country. But they aren't likely to have an easy time extending the streak tonight as UNI is undefeated at home this season in non-conference play.

With their decisive win over the VCU Rams earlier this week, George Mason clinched at least a share of the 2011 CAA regular season championship. The Patriots have three players who average double-digit scoring, as Cam Long, Ryan Pearson, and Luke Hancock all are having productive seasons. To win tonight, they'll have to deal with Kwadzo Ahelegbe, who averages 13.9 points per game for the Panthers.

The Patriots are 2-4 all-time in the ESPN Bracket Buster Competition, which features 114 teams and 57 games this year. Tonight's game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
