2011 National Signing Day: Cyrus Kouandjio Chooses Auburn Over Alabama, New Mexico

Cyrus Kouandjio, a five-star recruit from DeMatha, has decided to sign with Auburn. The offensive lineman made the announcement on ESPNU just now, choosing the Tigers over Alabama and New Mexico.

"I had vibes," Kouandjio said. "My heart just told me to go to Auburn."

Kouandjio decided on Auburn despite a late push from New Mexico. According to reports, Kouandjio was wearing a New Mexico hat prior to making his decision. His reported interest in New Mexico occurred late today, as prior reports pegged him to just Auburn and Alabama.

Kouandjio is the number one offensive lineman recruit in the country according to Rivals.com, and is also the number one recruit in the state of Maryland. He is the No. 4 overall recruit according to Rivals, making him one of the marquee recruits in the country today.

Alabama was the early favorite for Kouandjio because his brother, Arie Kouandjio, is currently a redshirt freshman with the team. However, Auburn entered the picture later on, with Kouandjio impressed after his last visit there.
