Today is measurements day at the 2011 NFL Combine, and it can make or break a lot of guy's draft stock. If they measure out a little bit shorter than conventional wisdom says a player at their position can be, it could mean that they drop way further down in the draft than they should. Ray Rice, Maurice Jones-Drew and Drew Brees are pretty good examples of this.

The Redskins will be looking at quarterbacks in the the upcoming draft, and the two they might be most focused on should have no concerns about measuring out poorly. Both Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert measured out as well above average size for NFL quarterbacks.

Cam Newton's combine has begun. He apparently checked in at 6-5 and 248 pounds. Works out on Sunday. Takes tests today. #Auburn #NFLDraftless than a minute ago via TweetDeck

So that's a good start for both quarterbacks. They both have excellent size for the quarterback position. Newton in particular, who has freakish size considering his mobility.
