The Hoyas are continuing their high level of play against Big East competition, as they have pulled ahead of the Providence Friars at halftime.
While the Friars have been dependent on Marshon Brooks, who has 24 points through the first half, the Hoyas demonstrated a more balanced attack.
The leading scorers for Georgetown in the first half were Jason Clark with 14 points, Chris Wright with 12 and Austin Freeman with 9. They have been spreading the wealth in the first half which has caused the Friars plenty of problems, as they are realizing now that there is more to this Georgetown team than just Freeman.
The key for Georgetown going into the second half is to make sure other Friars do not get involved. Brooks may be scoring at a high rate so far in this game, but no one else on the Providence team has been able to approach his point total. If they force Brooks to put the game in his hands, and defend against him better, the Hoyas should be able to close this game out.
