After a crushing home loss to their arch rival Duke Blue Devils, the Maryland Terrapins will take on the struggling Wake Forest Demon Deacons in College Park, MD.
Maryland's best chance to get a signature win this season slipped through their fingers as they were unable to contain Duke, and as a result, will have to perform extremely well the rest of the regular season in order to potentially convince the NCAA tournament selection committee that they are worthy of an at large bid. In order to do so, they will need to show them that they are one of the better teams in an otherwise weak ACC.
That journey will start today, as Wake Forest has been struggling all year to find any consistency. The Terps easily handled the Demon Deacons 74-55 on the road, with Cliff Tucker scoring 21 points off the bench and Jordan Williams notching a double double with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Today will also be Maryland's chance to earn just their second win at home in the conference. As unreal as it might sound, the Terps have a 1-3 record at home in the ACC this season. Gary Williams and company know if they want any legitimate chance of a tournament appearance, that figure must improve.
