George Mason Vs. Old Dominion: Patriots Beat Monarchs 62-45 On Strength Of Dominant Second Half

After a competitive first half that saw the two teams go back and forth, it was the George Mason Patriots who pulled away in the second half against Old Dominion to win 62-45.

The first half was one where ODU was leading most of the way. It wasn't until just before the break that George Mason was able to wrestle away the lead from the Monarchs, going into the locker room with a 24-23 lead. Once the Patriots walked back onto the court after the break, it was George Mason's show the rest of the way. Forward Ryan Pearson led the way for the Patriots with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Cam Long pitched in with 14 points, and forward Mike Morrison was the third Patriot in double figures with 10.

George Mason has now won their ninth straight game, which is the longest such winning streak in 12 years. The Patriots are also now 11-2 in the CAA and will now travel to face the North Carolina-Wilmington Seahawks on Tuesday night.
