Blake Griffin will make his only visit to the Verizon Center on Saturday night when his Los Angeles Clippers take on John Wall and the Washington Wizards at 7 p.m. Griffin added four more dunks to his ever-growing total Friday night, and continues to have a tremendous season that will probably win him Rookie of the Year.
The Clippers in general are a team trending upward, having won four games in a row prior to Friday's overtime loss to the New Jersey Nets. Newcomer Mo Williams has stepped in well at point guard, and former Wizard Randy Foye has played well at shooting guard after another injury to Eric Gordon. The Wizards, meanwhile, last played on Wednesday, when they were blown out at home by the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Wizards remain banged-up, with Andray Blatche, Rashard Lewis and Josh Howard all injured and potentially not in the lineup. It remains to be seen how Flip Saunders chooses to allocate minutes in this one. Perhaps we may see a return of the five-rookie lineup that shared the court in the second quarter on Wednesday.
