The top-seeded Pittsburgh Panthers headline the eight teams that will play their first- and second-round NCAA Tournament games in the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. The games will take place on Thursday and Saturday, with times still to be determined.
The Panthers earned the top seed in the Southeast region of the 2011 NCAA bracket, despite not winning the Big East Tournament. Ironically, the team that won the Big East Tournament, Connecticut, will also be playing first- and second-round games in Washington D.C. The Huskies earned a No. 3 seed in the West Region.
CAA champion Old Dominion will also be playing in Washington D.C. The last time a CAA team played in the Verizon Center in an NCAA Tournament game, George Mason went to the Final Four.
Here are all of the first-round matchups.
