The Navy Midshipmen have received a No. 14 seed and will face No. 3 DePaul in the first round of the 2011 Women's NCAA Tournament. These two teams, a part of the Philadelphia Region, will meet in University Park, Pennsylvania, Saturday at 1:30 p.m.. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
Navy earned its bid to the tournament with a win in the Patriot League Tournament over fellow locals American. The Midshipmen finished the season with a 20-11 overall record and a 10-4 record in the Patriot League to earn their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth.
DePaul will be a tough test for an inexperienced Navy team. The Blue Demons finished with a 27-6 overall record and a 13-3 record in a tough Big East.
